While still a university student, he worked at an art gallery. After graduating, he pursued a career in video production as a director of movie trailers, an animation director, and a CG creator.

 

Directed and produced the digital remastered trailer for “The Godfather.” Obtained approval from director Francis F. Coppola.
Subsequently signed a business outsourcing contract with Walt Disney Japan.
As director and producer of the ending theme for the anime “Transformers: Robots in Disguise” it was distributed worldwide. Gained experience as a director for anime and movie trailers, and currently produces media art works.

 

In 2011, after suffering from a serious illness, he began to question the transient value of deliberately constructed images. Drawing on tens of thousands of hours of experience in video production, he set out to transform the fleeting beauty of moving images into something permanent. This led to the creation of what was then the world’s first media art work described as “a moving ink painting in a frame”—an endlessly evolving artwork enclosed within a frame.

In 2024, after enduring the profound loss of someone close to him, he began producing a new body of work titled the “umu” series.

​

His works combine traditional Japanese painting materials—mineral pigments (iwa-enogu), water-based pigments (suhi-enogu), and ink—with CG (digital sculpture) techniques cultivated through his experience in animation production. These elements are integrated through a uniquely developed system and a specially designed frame, which has been registered as a utility model.

​

Through the composite integration of artwork, system, and frame, he has established a distinctive form of media art. Centered on these original media art works, he continues to explore new possibilities for what art can be.
