He worked at an art gallery while attending university, and after graduating, he worked in video production as a director of anime and movie trailers, and a CG creator.

He directed the ending credits for "Transformers: Robots in Disguise," which were distributed worldwide. He has gained experience directing anime and movie trailers, and currently produces media art.

In 2011, after tens of thousands of hours of experience in video production, Nakano confirmed the fact that "people find value in a succession of momentary beauty." Driven by a strong urge to make the momentary beauty of video permanent, he began creating the world's first media art at the time, "a moving ink painting in a frame," an endlessly moving painting. In 2024, Nakano experienced the death of someone close to him. After that, he created the work series "umu," which questions the "presence" of existence. It is a work that simultaneously coexists with an analog depiction that is always present on the surface of the work, and a CG image created as a background that can be turned "on" and "off" by switching the power on and off.

Both works were created using mineral pigments, water-based pigments, and ink, which are primarily used in Japanese painting, as well as CG developed from the experience gained in Japanese anime production.

The video display technology that he developed himself is purposefully composed of only a simple video playback system in order to achieve the work's goal of creating a permanent presence. Based on his experience in video production, he came to the conclusion that this was the only way to prevent the digital part of the work from becoming obsolete in a world of ever-advancing technology.

Traditional depiction techniques and a proprietary video system are combined with a special frame that has been registered as a utility model to form a single work of art, exuding the artist's unique style.

The combination of old and new technology with objective market value may not make a big impact on some people, but NAKANO continues his work with the belief that it is this steady accumulation that is leading to the creation of new value in the form of "moving pictures."
